All of my life I have marketed my skills in computer technology as a means of providing for my family as well as giving me intellectual fulfillment. I have never lost the joy and thrill from implementing a tool that directly benefited the persons who used it in a positive way.
Once I retired, I continued the marketing of my skills but found it gave me no joy. My heart was not in it because it was not consistent with my spiritual beliefs. I was troubled by selling products the buyer could not maintain themselves but would have to depend on others to maintain at a cost. I knew these skill were simple and easy to learn. I wanted them to succeed on their own. I wanted a business relationship that established a real friendship and sharing of gifts and skills.
The solution to my conflict was to give these skills away with the expectation that the customer would become independent. I changed the purpose of Unicow Technology to share my skills as well as my gifts and to benefit other persons through donations to charity. I resolved I would not accept more requests than I could manage and to create a waiting list for those needing assistance. I also decided to inspect each request carefully, with the help of advisors, to determine whom to take on as customers. I would give them the skills needed to succeed on their own and only mentor them when they needed assistance.
By doing this I can thank God for giving me the ability to develop this skill and to share it with love and caring to others.
